About: You will be expected to attend classes 5 hours per week. Outside of class hours you will be expected to complete another 7 hours of self directed study including assignment preparation, study and online tasks.

This course is designed for people who are working in Human Resources and want to formalise their qualification or for those who want to enter the job area and increase their knowledge in this area.

Volume of Learning

Your learning commitment for this qualification is a minimum of 390 supervised hours.

There is an expectation that you will engage in a range of activities to support your supervised learning which may include:
• Independent study
• Work placement or simulated workplace activities
• Research and projects
• Preparation of assessment tasks
• Field/industry visits
• Tutorials
• Learning support

This is a Diploma level course. Skills required include essay writing and referencing, typing skills, computer literacy, reading and analysing material and resources, problem solving, the ability to be a self- direct learner, advanced communication skills and manage time effectively.

Classes are Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm-8.30pm.

Recognition is the process by which you can demonstrate you already have the skills or competencies taught in a unit or qualification. It is the recognition of the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained through previous studies, work and life in general. Put simply, it means if you can demonstrate you already have the skills and experience you can complete partial or a whole qualification without needing to attend classes.

There are two types of Recognition:
• Credit Transfer, which allows you to receive credit for unit/s of competency previously successfully completed.
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which is an assessment process of your previous skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled.
